Our Staff
Every Bloomin' Thing has been serving the Massachusetts South Shore since 1991.
Much of our staff has been with us for over fifteen years, so you can be assured of getting the right answers to your landscaping and gardening questions. Yes, they have training and education, but their real wisdom comes from a deep passion for plants and gardening. As soon as you talk with them, this will be very apparent. They simply love what they do!
The boss says his favorite part of the day is recalling all the wonderful accolades that he hears from his customers about his staff.
In 1991 Steve Smeed left his teaching position at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School after 18 years with the hope of combining his two passions — teaching and gardening. After 30 years running the show, Steve and his wife Susan retired in 2021 and the garden center is now owned and operated by their son Scott and his wife Shyla. Scott has been working at the garden center for 20 years and has learned the business inside and out.
All of the employees at Every Bloomin’ Thing will do their best to not only show you plants, but to answer any questions you have about their care, growth pattern, sun conditions and maintenance of the plant.
If you’re having problems, the staff will explain WHY you may be experiencing them. Chances are good that if you come to us soon enough, we can recommend solutions on saving your plant. And down the road, you will be better able to diagnose a problem and begin to correct it yourself.
The end result…. healthier plants, less work and fewer dead plants to replace.
And to make sure you keep current on what you should be doing in the yard month-by-month ...sign up for our monthly newsletter with planting and gardening tips.
